This is an exciting new opportunity for somebody bright, proactive and organised to join our operations team as Finance and Project Support Assistant. This role is central to the financial wellbeing of the company and to enabling the client facing team to deliver projects successfully. The successful candidate will report to the Finance Manager and will be part of an engaged, fun and supportive team within a company that is committed to their personal development and growth.

The role will be full time and London based, with an option to agree a hybrid working arrangement that would suit both the organisation and the individual. The remuneration package includes a competitive base salary and benefits - see below for further details.

Key responsibilities include:

Finance support

Provide administrative support to the Finance Manager and contribute to robust systems and data handling.

  • Supplier invoice management and processing
  • Sales invoice management and processing
  • Producing and distributing ad-hoc and regular finance reports and where necessary extracting data from multiple systems e.g. revenue, time and pipeline records
  • Checking bank and credit card reconciliations (all automated)
  • Processing staff expenses and company credit card statements
  • Preparing weekly suppliers and expenses payment runs
  • Assisting with month-end duties such as prepayments, and intercompany transactions and journal entries
  • Ensuring finance policies and controls are adhered to across the organisation and where relevant identify and suggest changes and additions to these policies
  • Ad hoc finance projects

Project support

Support the client facing team by taking on tasks that will free up their time for client engagement. Enable the candidate to develop their internal network with the wider team.

  • Client administration - contract coordination and record keeping
  • Pipeline administration - opportunity recording and updating
  • Project administration - set up, updating and close down
  • Project profitability analysis
  • Training and educating team members on the basics of project finance

What are we looking for?

Essential

  • Experience within a finance role
  • Experience of using finance software
  • High level of numeracy and analytical skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational skills and an ability to multitask and be a team player
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to think independently and solve problems
  • Good working knowledge of Excel and / or Google Sheets and comfortable learning and navigating new software

Desirable

  • Experience of using xero
  • Experience of working in a consultancy or professional services environment
  • Degree level qualification and ACCA, CIMA (or equivalent) student

Remuneration

The Fingleton team works openly and flexibly and offers the below remuneration package for this permanent and full time role.

  • Base salary ~£30-35k pa gross based on experience
  • Profit linked bonus scheme available to all team members: no upper limit / not capped as percentage of salary.
  • Individual bonus awards for exceptional contributions. Individuals awarded this bonus typically receive 10-30% of salary
