Former CMA Board Director joins Fingleton

Andrea Gomes da Silva confirmed as Senior Advisor 

London, 12 March 2024: Leading strategic regulatory advisory firm, Fingleton, has today announced that Andrea Gomes da Silva will join the company as a senior advisor from April. Andrea was formerly a member of the board and senior executive team at the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), having joined from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer where she was a partner. 

Andrea led the CMA’s approach to markets and mergers for close to four years, and was responsible for decisions on some of the most complex national and international mergers and market reviews. She also oversaw the CMA’s conduct of regulatory appeals. Andrea has experience of working with a range of stakeholders across government and national regulatory authorities, as well as advising corporate boards and their teams. 

At a time when the CMA is reshaping merger regulation in the UK and globally and its intervention in markets is increasing, Andrea’s appointment reinforces Fingleton’s exceptional business advisory offering.
