While leading the Office of Fair Trading, John frequently met CEOs who felt that the investigative process prevented them making their case effectively in commercial terms, using their own language and approach.
John believed that strategic regulatory advice, delivered as early as possible, could assist senior executives to actively manage investigations in their own preferred style, and that this could lead to better outcomes for business, consumers and society as a whole.
He founded Fingleton in 2013.

His ambition in establishing Fingleton was to create an environment that attracts exceptional people, that blends a range of perspectives and experiences to generate creative solutions for clients, and that instills his approach for clear, pragmatic advice.
